Tagsurance 3 version 4.0.0 Release Notes
Release date: 25-Feb-2025
Important!
Tagsurance 3 version 4.0 is not only a software update but also requires new hardware. Versions 4.x run on a Linux-based server and Lane Controller 2.0, whose existence is a prerequisite for the 4.x version installation. Lane Controller 2.0 is the most visible component that proves the system’s compatibility with the version 4 software.
Release Notes
New features:
- Hardened system
Tagsurance 3 controller is now hardened and ready for network connections. Tagsurance 3 system can be accessed only with system-specific credentials. - Headless system
Tagsurance 3 provides a browser-based UI and an API that can be accessed only by a separate computer. Tagsurance 3 can be connected to a computer via a network or direct point-to-point connection.
All features*, including Recipe Builder, are available in the browser-based UI that requires user login credentials. - Cloud-based features
When Tagsurance 3 is connected to the network, the user can benefit from the first cloud-based features: The system checks the available releases, and a new version can be downloaded directly from the Voyantic cloud to the Tagsurance 3 system. The license update is no longer a manual process for the systems online. Tagsurance 3 automatically fetches the latest available license from the Voyantic cloud. - Admin UI
The section of Tagsurance 3 UI for system update, user management, detailed license information, system specific API client information, and the diagnostic log export. - Recipe service
Recipe service stores and manages the recipes locally on the Tagsurance 3 server. Once the recipes are stored locally, they are always accessible, and a job can be started even if the computer where Tagsurance 3 UI is running changes. Recipes can be created and edited in the Recipe Builder, part of the Recipe service.
* some features or feature properties are available only at API and they are not exposed in Tagsurance 3 UI
Known Issues:
- Features missing compared to the latest 3.x version. Missing features will be added in the following releases.
- Mühlbauer serial interface support in DDA Narrow Web and TAL15k
- Tagsurance HF device support
- External lot control via Machine IO
- Puncher’s trigger pulse length definition in distance (mm)
- Bendurance support
- The recipe size Tagsurance SL UHF can support is not documented
- Recipe Builder or API spec doesn’t limit the task list anyhow
- Tagsurance SL UHF cannot execute, for example, a full-size frequency sweep (800-1000 MHz, step size 0.1 MHz). It’s only one task, but it generates huge number of test points.
