Installation Instructions

IMPORTANT!!! if you are updating from older version than 3.3, read before you start:
1. if your Tagsurance Controller rack does not have a router (white small box with 5 ethernet sockets), you will need to first request one from support@voyantic.com; this software version and the ones succeeding it will not work without the router
2. If you have a router (white small box with 5 ethernet sockets) you will need to update it; request the update SW from support@voyantic.com. Note that it is system serial number specific, with the request send the serial numbers of all the Tagsurance 3 systems you update.

extract installer on Tagsurance Controller PC
run setup.exe (reboot if requested)
note: if you have Tagsurance HF devices in the system and are updating from older version than Tagsurance 3.2.0, you will have to update the firmwares of those to the version 2.5.1 (see manual)
update the router as instructed by support@voyantic.com when you requested the router update SW from them (only for updates from older than Tagsurance 3.3)
reboot the Tagsurance Controller PC or start Tagsurance 3.exe manually

Theme of this release is “IO only station” and improving the Operators’ experience with the Operator UI. Details are below.

useful for integrating e.g. machine vision system for visual quality check or similar test device that is either triggered by itself or Tagsurance 3
works like any other station except no data connection, no initialization by Tagsurance 3 and no results as data (only pass/fail) in Tagsurance 3
“distance from trigger” needs to be configured just like for any other station; Tagsurance 3 always sends the trigger signal but it can be left disconnected if a test device in question triggers itself accurately (machine vision systems) and the following is true: pass/fail result can be expected to be recived deterministically while tag moves no more than some 80% of its pitch from the start of test (start of test happens deterministically in same location with some +-1 mm tolerance)

failed tags listing shows with color coding which station failed and user can open the result of that station in graph mode by clicking it; also task list details and output are shown in this view
action trigger settings are persisted
ENUM type names for stations such as TSU (for Tagsurance SL UHF) have been replaced with human readable ones (such as TSU -> Tagsurance SL UHF)
Finetuning offset for a station’s distance from trigger is now reseted (as assumed by most users) after changes are made in lane configuration
bug fixed in pattern trig settings on how the visualization is updated when offset is moved is fixed (only updated the visualization when was 1.0 mm, 2.0 mm, etc., not on 1.1 mm, 1.2 mm etc.
Tagsurance SL UHF pulsed pass / fail signal was previously 800 ms, now works as expected
Tagsurance 3.exe (which has the legacy operator UI but is not used anymore as UI) opens minimized by default
Old Lane Configurator is dropped from release (Windows executable, Labview based)
“no lane controller” mode (while not recommended other than real special cases) was not usable in Tagsurance 3.3, fixed now

Action trigger STATION_READY does not work for IO only stations (fix is coming in Tagsurance 3.5 release); this is only relevant if need to run stop&go process with an “IO only station”
Server version 1.2 and later are not supported. The server version 1.2 is delivered since March 2024 and it requires Tagsurance 3 version 3.8.1 or later.
