Voyantic is updating the Snoop Pro coupling element lineup with two lifecycle announcements:

  1. End-of-Life (EOL) for Snoop Pro rev. W, immediately replaced by the new Snoop Pro Large.
  2. End-of-Sale (EOS) for Snoop Pro 1.0, superseded by Snoop Pro 2.0.

1. Snoop Pro rev. W → Snoop Pro Large (End-of-Life)

Snoop Pro rev. W is replaced by Snoop Pro Large, a new coupling element for testing large UHF RFID dipole tags in Tagsurance® 3 systems.

Key improvements over Snoop Pro rev. W:

  • Integrated strobe light and fail indicator: illuminates the tag from below for precise visual verification of the test trigger position, and flashes on failed tags. Both can be switched on and off independently. (Not available on Snoop Pro rev. W.)
  • Expanded shielding plate range: standard opening lengths from 30 mm to 120 mm in 10 mm steps (vs. 42–82 mm on Snoop Pro rev. W), all at the same 115 mm plate width, with additional plates across the full range available to order (minimum order 10 pcs).
  • Low unit-to-unit RF variance: ±0.5 dB typical, supporting consistent results across lanes.

Snoop Pro Large uses the existing Snoop Pro Adapter Large (TSC-SIK-LGB-SPAD-L) for Station Installation Kit mounting and is compatible with Tagsurance SL UHF stations. Snoop Pro Large can also be used without the strobe functionality for RF-performance-only measurement.

Snoop Pro Large is priced the same as Snoop Pro rev. W, there is no price change with this transition.

End-of-Life schedule:

  • Snoop Pro Large is available to order immediately as the replacement.
  • Repair services and spare parts for Snoop Pro rev. W units already in the field are expected to remain available until 31 August 2029, subject to component availability.
  • No hardware issues are driving this change; units already installed and in production use are unaffected and can continue operating as-is.

2. Snoop Pro 1.0 → Snoop Pro 2.0 (End-of-Sale)

Snoop Pro 2.0 launched in February 2025 as a drop-in upgrade to Snoop Pro 1.0. Normally, Voyantic ends sales of a coupling element as soon as its successor ships; for this transition, Voyantic made an exception and kept Snoop Pro 1.0 available in parallel with Snoop Pro 2.0, so customers could validate the new version’s backward compatibility on their own lines before committing.

With Snoop Pro 2.0 now established in the field for over a year, Voyantic is ending sales of Snoop Pro 1.0.

Snoop Pro 2.0: what’s improved over Snoop Pro 1.0:

  • Integrated strobe light: built in, removing the need for an external strobe light; illuminates the tag from below for clearer visibility than external strobes.
  • Fail indicator: flashes red on failed tags; strobe and fail indicator have independent on/off switches.
  • Reduced unit-to-unit variance: eliminates the external splitter used on Snoop Pro 1.0, improving testing consistency.
  • Smaller footprint 171 × 99.55 mm vs. 170 × 118 mm on Snoop Pro 1.0, easier to fit in compact installations.
  • Faster shielding plate swaps new magnet system for quicker, easier plate changes.
  • Same maximum tag antenna size: 50 × 100 mm on both versions, so testing capability for existing tag designs is unchanged.

Backward compatibility (already validated in the field since February 2025):

  • Shielding plates: fully compatible, existing Snoop Pro 1.0 shielding plates work with Snoop Pro 2.0.
  • RF performance: the built-in strobe does not interfere with RF test results.
  • Recipes: no recipe changes are required, simply swap the coupling element and continue testing.
  • Electrode extenders: not guaranteed to be backward compatible.

End-of-Sale schedule:

  • Snoop Pro 2.0 is available to order immediately (and has been since February 2025) as the direct replacement, at the same price point.
  • This is an end-of-sale, not end-of-life: repair, spare parts, and technical support for Snoop Pro 1.0 units already installed continue under Voyantic’s standard hardware lifecycle policy. Existing installations are unaffected.
